Remote Senior Frontend Engineer (Observability) - Remote across ANZ

Description:

• The Senior Frontend Engineer (Observability) position at Canva involves delivering features, taking ownership of the entire lifecycle from design doc through to implementation and release.
• The role includes helping deliver monitoring of critical user flows through complete end-to-end tracing and identifying gaps in Observability tooling at Canva to enhance it.
• Responsibilities also include modernizing Observability tooling, participating in brainstorming and POC’ing to improve existing systems, and improving trace instrumentation on the frontend to surface performance degradation in frontend components.
• The position requires developing solutions to scale platforms to meet Canva's customer growth and guiding and mentoring other team members to help them grow their skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

• Experience in TypeScript is a must for this role.
• Deep knowledge and understanding of Computer Engineering fundamentals and first principles.
• Familiarity with Frontend performance metrics and web vitals.
• Experience working with and monitoring microservice architectures in large distributed cloud environments, ideally AWS.
• Proficiency with Observability tooling such as Grafana, Kibana, Sentry, or similar.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, preferably Terraform.
• Ability to guide and mentor team members and improve collaboration, learning, and idea sharing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required for documentation and internal team alignment.
