Description:

  • The Senior Frontend Engineer will envision, implement, and validate user interfaces that aggregate complex graphical data into comprehensible descriptions of social networks.
  • Responsibilities include implementing features and user interfaces for Borg products like Hive, architecting efficient and reusable front-end systems, and collaborating with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to deliver compelling user-facing products.
  • The role involves identifying and resolving performance and scalability issues, planning and coordinating data modeling and feature releases, and mentoring junior Frontend Engineers.
  • The company is small, with fewer than 10 employees, allowing for direct interaction with the CEO and CTO, and offers flexible working hours apart from daily calls.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 5+ years of experience architecting and implementing complex user flows on the web.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, including asynchronous programming, closures, and types, is required.
  • Deep expertise in at least one major frontend framework, preferably Next.JS, is essential.
  • Experience with HTML/CSS, including layout, specificity, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility, is necessary.
  • Familiarity with browser APIs and optimizing front-end performance is required.
  • Candidates should demonstrate the ability to utilize cloud-native technologies to build a robust, high-availability platform.
  • A growth mindset is important, with the ability to balance long-term engineering objectives with immediate development needs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative spirit are essential.
  • Enjoyment of writing documentation and understanding its value is required.
