Description:
Philo is seeking a Senior Frontend Software Engineer to join their team in San Francisco, Cambridge, New York, or remotely within the U.S.
The role involves designing, building, testing, and reinventing television experiences across web, mobile, and TV platforms.
Engineers at Philo own their projects from start to finish and are expected to ship to production multiple times per day.
Responsibilities include iteratively designing and improving application UIs, implementing user acquisition and retention initiatives, prototyping and testing new features, investigating anomalies in metrics, and collaborating with various teams to deliver impactful work.
The company utilizes modern web development technologies, particularly React and ES6, and focuses on creating a seamless TV experience.
Requirements:
Candidates must be highly proficient in modern web development technologies, especially React.
A strong comfort level with plain JavaScript and experience with Typescript is required.
Applicants should be skilled in writing and maintaining scalable CSS and SASS stylesheets.
Experience in building and maintaining large-scale single-page applications is necessary.
Candidates must be able to write, test, ship, and maintain clean production code within a collaborative and version-controlled (git) codebase.
Familiarity with Redux state management, HTML5 video player development, GraphQL endpoints, and full-stack development in Rails, Node, or similar backend technologies is a plus.
