Remote Senior Frontend Software Engineer

Description:

• Sphinx is seeking a Senior Frontend Software Engineer to join the Space Communications team in developing a ground communications and data-transport platform for US government-operated satellites.
• The role involves leading the development of user-facing services, designing and implementing technology to support the operations of various US Government satellites.
• Responsibilities include building performant, secure, and tested web applications with an emphasis on automation and security.
• The position requires owning technical problems end-to-end, engaging in self-directed learning of new technologies, and collaborating effectively within a team.
• The Senior Frontend Software Engineer will serve as both an individual contributor and a mentor for junior engineers.

Requirements:

• 3-5+ years of progressive web development experience.
• Extensive knowledge of HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and web platform concepts like caching, authentication, and CSP.
• Ability to fulfill multiple roles such as web designer, UX designer, and engineer.
• Familiarity with various web application architectures and the capability to select the appropriate one based on requirements.
• Willingness to acquire additional skills like Python, Docker, and AWS.
• Comfortable working with ambiguity and capable of self-directing work.
• Demonstrated experience in making informed decisions based on past successes and failures.
• Eligibility restricted to US Citizens with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
