Remote Senior Frontend Web Application Developer

Description:

• KoboToolbox is seeking a Senior Frontend Web Application Developer for a remote full-time position of 35-40 hours per week.
• The developer will work on a codebase used by over 14,000 nonprofit organizations worldwide, facilitating the collection and analysis of more than 20 million surveys monthly.
• Responsibilities include understanding existing code, evolving conventions, mentoring developers, writing robust code, distilling feature requests, scoping work, attending check-ins, and shaping tool suite design.
• The position requires curiosity, initiative, and a cooperative problem-solving approach.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

• Must have experience with client-side code for API-driven single-page applications.
• Thorough understanding of TypeScript, React, styling, state management, and data exchange over HTTP.
• Ability to work with legacy technologies like Backbone and CoffeeScript.
• Recent experience in code reviews and proficiency in English.
• Familiarity with Git, Eastern time zone working hours, and availability of at least 30 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Leadership experience, Docker, Python/Django, database query optimization, surveying tools, and Stripe integration are preferred.
