Description:

  • Blue Coding is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Developer to work remotely from Latin America.
  • The role involves collaborating with a global research organization focused on environmental issues, economic opportunities, and human well-being.
  • Responsibilities include developing user-facing geospatial applications, data dashboards, and decision support tools to help cities manage urban heat stress.
  • The developer will work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to transform research insights into live applications.
  • Daily tasks include building rapid prototypes, engaging in architectural decisions, delivering features based on user research, and integrating datasets into the database.
  • This is a part-time position.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have strong hands-on experience with Node.js, Typescript, Next.js, Javascript, HTML/CSS, and React.
  • Experience with Javascript testing frameworks such as Jest and Cypress is required.
  • Candidates should have experience in API development using FastAPI or comparable Javascript frameworks.
  • Experience with GIS web application development and cloud-native geospatial data formats is necessary.
  • Proficiency in SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Redis) databases is required.
  • Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS is essential.
  • Candidates should have experience in building maintainable software in agile environments and with continuous integration and deployment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
  • A self-motivated learner with a willingness to take on new challenges is preferred.
  • An interest in working for a mission-driven environmental organization is important.
