Remote Senior Full-stack Engineer

Description:

• Circle is seeking a Senior Full-stack Engineer to join the special projects team focused on making Circle the top choice for creator/brand-led communities.
• The role involves working on internal tools, cutting-edge AI features, and new customer-facing features used by millions.
• Responsibilities include collaborating with leaders, designers, and engineers throughout the development lifecycle, breaking down large epics into actionable tasks, reviewing PRs, and bug-fixing.
• The engineer will work autonomously on a product built in Ruby on Rails backend and React front-end, with a focus on building critical features and improvements for the web app.
• They will also be responsible for improving the codebase, identifying architectural deficiencies, and integrating new services like OpenAI, Zendesk, Hubspot, Notion, and Slack.
• The successful candidate will need to align with the company's values, have 6+ years of experience working on complex web applications, be proficient in Ruby on Rails, MySQL/Postgresql, ReactJS, TypeScript, CSS/SCCS, and TailwindCSS, and have experience working on a fully distributed remote team.
• Bonus points for previous experience with community/creator platforms, creating integrations with external services, working with AI tools, experience at a fast-growing startup, and a track record of picking up new technologies.

Requirements:

• Strong alignment with the company's values.
• Proficiency in English at a CEFR Level C1 / ILR Level 5.
• 6+ years of experience working as a full-stack engineer on complex web applications with significant scale.
• Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails, MySQL/Postgresql, ReactJS, TypeScript, CSS/SCCS, and TailwindCSS.
• Familiarity with both frontend and backend development.
• Desire to work in an environment that values speed of iteration and individual autonomy.
• Great communication skills in English.
• Ability to lead complex projects with attention to detail.
• Experience working on a fully distributed remote team.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with a certain level of ambiguity.
