Instinct Science is an animal health software company that enhances patient care, improves staff efficiency, and minimizes burnout for veterinary practices.
The Senior Full-Stack Engineer will design and develop modern veterinary software used by thousands of users in animal hospitals globally.
This role involves taking ownership of projects and handling larger, complex features and bugs.
The engineer will collaborate with a small, cross-functional team to deliver quality software that addresses real customer problems.
Responsibilities include owning software projects from scoping to release, designing efficient and scalable solutions, and building software using Elixir, React, and associated technologies.
The engineer will mentor junior team members, lead collaboration with product, engineering, and QA teams, research complex customer issues, and stay updated on industry best practices.

Requirements:

Must have experience building modern SaaS applications.
Knowledge of both back-end and front-end development languages is required.
Ability to break complex problems into actionable and efficient work is essential.
A team-first attitude with a strong desire to mentor teammates and establish effective work patterns is necessary.
Strong communication skills in a remote work environment are required.
A commitment to quality driven by empathy for customers and their patients is essential.
Candidates must be detail-oriented and organized in their work.
Nice-to-haves include deep knowledge of Elixir or Erlang for back-end development, knowledge of Typescript and React for front-end development, experience using AWS for application deployment and troubleshooting, and proven experience with relational databases.
