Description:
Rye is seeking a Senior or Staff Full-Stack Engineer to work on eCommerce systems, including order tracking, placement, returns, and inventory.
The role involves developing features to integrate with platforms like Amazon, Shopify, WooCommerce, and BigCommerce.
Responsibilities include building high-quality APIs for eCommerce, creating user-friendly interfaces using React, TypeScript, and Next.js, and collaborating with designers for UI/UX implementation.
The engineer will work on server-side rendering, front-end architectural patterns for SEO, and setting up new infrastructure on platforms like GCP and Netlify.
Other tasks include creating tutorials, product explorers, and internal tools for managing orders and facilitating customer interactions.
The position requires independent work and proactive communication within a remote-first team environment.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in engineering frontend and backend systems, with exposure to a fast-paced startup setting.
Proficiency in building systems with a GraphQL API, GCP backend, React, Tailwind, Node.js, and TypeScript.
Familiarity with front-end build pipelines, deployment platforms like Netlify, and server-side rendering using Next.js.
Passion for both back-end and front-end development, emphasizing user experience even in the absence of a designer.
Strong communication skills, a growth mindset, thoughtfulness, and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
