Remote Senior Full Stack Engineer

Description:

• We are currently looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our growing Web Applications team.
• This position is remote and reports to the Engineering Manager.
• You will work on complex projects and actively contribute to Conversational AI, back-end and front-end initiatives.
• You will develop solutions for our software as a service (SaaS) products that help scientists save time and increase their experiment quality.
• Your responsibilities include implementing new features and bug fixes as part of a larger cross-functional team of data engineers, product managers, designers, and scientists.
• You will work within a team of 4-6 full-stack engineers to conduct technical investigations, solution designs, code implementation with automated tests, and code reviews.
• You will lead or consult on the authoring of engineering design proposals following our product roadmap at BenchSci.
• You will leverage a deep understanding of the business context and the team’s goals to make independent technical decisions in the face of open-ended requirements.
• You are expected to proactively identify new opportunities and advocate for and implement improvements to the current state of projects.
• You will adhere to and improve our high standards of highly scalable and maintainable code.

Requirements:

• A degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field within science is required.
• You must have high comfort working with a Python back-end and a React/Typescript front-end.
• A minimum of 4+ years of experience working as a professional full-stack developer is required.
• You should have a solid understanding of relational databases and SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL or similar).
• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is necessary.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are required.
• Experience with Frontend and Backend testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, PyTest, etc.) is necessary.
• A strong understanding of the Python and Typescript type systems is required.
