Description:
The Senior Full Stack Software Engineer for the IMS team at Discogs will be responsible for building a robust inventory management system using modern React, Python, and GraphQL.
This is a remote position open to candidates located in OR, WA, CA, CO, TX, IL.
The role involves planning, developing, and deploying server-side and client-side software in sprint cycles.
Responsibilities include observing, debugging, and optimizing production systems with thousands of concurrent users.
The engineer will research new frontiers, prototype implementations, and share knowledge with the team.
Collaboration with Product and Engineering teams is essential to deliver high-quality products that maximize value to the Discogs ecosystem.
The position requires taking responsibility over large, complex features from concept to design to delivery with no guidance.
Legacy codebases will be maintained, rebuilt, and adapted alongside modernizing the stack.
The engineer will assist the team with estimation and prioritization of development efforts and provide technical leadership and mentorship to other team members.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience developing software solutions.
Experience building, operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing production systems under load.
Proficiency in delivering software using Python and JavaScript with frameworks.
Ability to interface with relational databases using SQL and conduct code reviews within a sprint SDLC.
Familiarity with Build systems, DevOps, CI/CD procedures, and cloud services.
Advanced knowledge in specialization to guide and mentor team members.
Experience designing and leading a software project from requirements to delivery with no guidance.
Ability to complete a significant refactor of an existing software project and independently lead technical discussions with peers.
Understanding of business vision, mission, and strategy and how code supports business outcomes.
Bachelor's degree in a math/computer science-related field or equivalent work experience.
