Remote Senior Full Stack Engineer, Machine Learning

Description:

• Vannevar Labs is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer, Machine Learning to assist in developing new machine learning services and products within their multi-terabyte data lake.
• The role involves collaborating with deep learning experts, software engineers, and military officers to create impactful software products for defense purposes.
• The engineer will work on the LLM service, design usable interfaces and APIs, architect efficient front-end systems, integrate machine learning services with user-facing products, and build demo products to showcase new machine learning approaches.
• The position requires taking ownership, making key technical decisions, and establishing best practices for software engineering within the team.
• The engineer will have the opportunity to leverage cutting-edge tools in Machine Learning and AI to address mission-critical workflows.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of software development experience in building user-facing products, with proficiency in JavaScript.
• At least 2 years of experience in developing responsive and performant web UIs, including expertise in front-end frameworks like React.
• 2+ years of full stack development experience, including familiarity with relational databases, caching technologies, and object stores.
• 3+ years of backend engineering work involving realtime and async applications.
• Previous knowledge of LLMs and prompt engineering is advantageous, but a willingness to learn and excel in this domain is also valued.
• Must be a US resident or citizen.
