Description:
Vannevar Labs is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer, Machine Learning to assist in developing new machine learning services and products within their multi-terabyte data lake.
The role involves collaborating with deep learning experts, software engineers, and military officers to create impactful software products for defense purposes.
The engineer will work on the LLM service, design usable interfaces and APIs, architect efficient front-end systems, integrate machine learning services with user-facing products, and build demo products to showcase new machine learning approaches.
The position requires taking ownership, making key technical decisions, and establishing best practices for software engineering within the team.
The engineer will have the opportunity to leverage cutting-edge tools in Machine Learning and AI to address mission-critical workflows.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of software development experience in building user-facing products, with proficiency in JavaScript.
At least 2 years of experience in developing responsive and performant web UIs, including expertise in front-end frameworks like React.
2+ years of full stack development experience, including familiarity with relational databases, caching technologies, and object stores.
3+ years of backend engineering work involving realtime and async applications.
Previous knowledge of LLMs and prompt engineering is advantageous, but a willingness to learn and excel in this domain is also valued.
Must be a US resident or citizen.
