Description:

  • The role is for a Senior Full-stack Engineer specializing in PHP and JavaScript, working remotely on a full-time basis.
  • The engineer will help schools and districts improve communication between families and educators, contributing to the development of new features every sprint.
  • Responsibilities include designing, coding, testing, deploying, debugging, and documenting challenges, as well as improving processes and securing systems.
  • The engineer will work closely with customers and Product Owners to define and ship new features, and collaborate with peers to enhance the platform's cost, security, scalability, and maintainability.
  • The position involves operating production systems at scale, identifying and fixing bugs, reviewing code, and leading projects that serve educators.
  • Mentorship and technical guidance to other engineers will also be part of the role.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have experience in web development with large-scale services using PHP and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Proficiency in service and application development with MySQL/Postgres is required.
  • Experience deploying and operating systems at scale on AWS/Aurora/RDS/SQS is necessary.
  • Candidates should be proficient in RESTful API development and familiar with agile development processes, including CI/CD.
  • Experience with end-to-end testing frameworks such as Playwright or Selenium is required.
  • It is a plus to have experience with React and Tailwind CSS.
