Description:

  • Discogs is seeking a talented Full Stack Engineer to join their Shopping squad in a remote position.
  • The role involves working on exciting projects, collaborating with innovative minds, and contributing to cutting-edge solutions.
  • The Senior Full Stack Engineer will act as a senior member of a group of passionate engineers to create software and services for the Discogs product.
  • Responsibilities include planning, developing, and deploying server-side and client-side software in sprint cycles.
  • The engineer will observe, debug, and optimize production systems with thousands of concurrent users.
  • The role requires researching new frontiers, prototyping implementations, and sharing knowledge.
  • Open communication and collaboration with Product and Engineering teams are essential to deliver high-quality products.
  • The engineer will take responsibility for large, complex features from concept to delivery and maintain legacy codebases while modernizing the stack.
  • The role includes coaching and mentoring other engineers through recommendations, technical oversight, code reviews, and feedback.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience developing software solutions is required.
  • Experience in building, operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing production systems under load is necessary.
  • Proficiency in delivering software using Python and JavaScript with frameworks is essential.
  • Candidates must have experience interfacing with relational databases using SQL.
  • Familiarity with Git, conducting code reviews, build systems, DevOps, and CI/CD procedures is required.
  • Knowledge of cloud services and a thorough understanding of HTTP APIs is necessary.
  • Candidates should possess advanced knowledge in their specialization to guide and mentor team members.
  • Experience in designing and leading a software project from requirements to delivery with no guidance is required.
  • Experience in completing significant refactors of existing software projects is necessary.
  • Candidates should have experience independently researching and leading technical discussions with peers.
  • A thorough understanding of the business vision, mission, and strategy, and how their code supports business outcomes is required.
  • The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from key stakeholders is necessary.
  • Candidates should have a working knowledge of breaking down large complex projects into sub-tasks and completing them.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a math/computer science-related field or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Preferred experience includes eCommerce, containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker and Kubernetes), and familiarity with Python, FastAPI, React, GraphQL, Kafka, Flask, Redis, ElasticSearch, AWS, DataDog, Sentry, Cloudflare, microservices, distributed systems, and ADA/WCAG compliance.
