Description:

  • The Senior Full Stack Engineer will work remotely and collaborate with a team of passionate engineers at Discogs to develop software and services for the Discogs product.
  • Responsibilities include planning, developing, and deploying server-side and client-side software in sprint cycles.
  • The role involves observing, debugging, and optimizing production systems with thousands of concurrent users.
  • Researching new technologies, prototyping implementations, and sharing knowledge with the team.
  • Collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality products that maximize value to the Discogs ecosystem.
  • Taking ownership of large, complex features from concept to design to delivery.
  • Maintaining, rebuilding, and modernizing legacy codebases.
  • Assisting the team with estimation and prioritization of development efforts.
  • Providing technical leadership, mentorship, code reviews, and feedback to other engineers.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software development.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience with building, operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing production systems.
  • Proficiency in Python and JavaScript with frameworks, relational databases using SQL, Git, and conducting code reviews within a sprint SDLC.
  • Familiarity with Build systems, DevOps, CI/CD procedures, cloud services, and HTTP APIs.
  • Advanced knowledge in specialization to guide and mentor team members.
  • Experience leading software projects from requirements to delivery, refactoring existing projects, and leading technical discussions.
  • Understanding of business vision, mission, and strategy and ability to present information effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in math/computer science or equivalent work experience.
