Description:

  • The Trust & Safety team at Calendly is responsible for safeguarding the platform's integrity by addressing challenges such as detecting and mitigating fraudulent activity, preventing abuse, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • The Senior Full Stack Engineer will design, develop, and maintain systems to prevent, detect, and respond to threats in real-time in an automated manner.
  • The role involves building new features and scaling the platform and architecture as the system transitions from a monolith to various services.
  • Responsibilities include designing and implementing systems to detect and mitigate fraud, developing algorithms and machine learning models, collaborating with Product, Legal, and Security teams, building monitoring tools, optimizing performance, conducting root cause analyses, staying informed about security threats, and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 7+ years of Software Development experience at a SaaS or technology company.
  • A proven track record within the Trust & Safety domain and familiarity with challenges around spam detection, account takeovers, and content moderation is required.
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques and their applications in fraud detection and abuse prevention is necessary.
  • A deep understanding of distributed systems and cloud computing, with practical experience in building and maintaining high-traffic, high-availability platforms, is essential.
  • Experience with cloud providers like Google Cloud and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform is a plus.
  • Strong programming skills in Node + TypeScript and Rails, with a focus on writing clean, reliable, and maintainable code, including comprehensive testing, are required.
  • Strong web frontend skills with experience in React for client-side application development are necessary.
  • Candidates should possess strong analytical thinking and the ability to design solutions to complex challenges.
  • The ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders is essential.
  • Availability for participation in an on-call rotation is required.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States, as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship.
