Remote Senior Full Stack Software Developer (Node js. & React)

Description:

• The position is for a Senior Software Developer to join the Lightspeed Retail Team in North America.
• The role involves building software solutions that provide merchants with essential tools to thrive in the market.
• The developer will collaborate with product managers, designers, developers, and stakeholders as part of a cross-functional team to deliver product features and functionality.
• Responsibilities include developing clean, well-designed, highly maintainable code and services, drafting and implementing technical designs, and extending personal skills through team collaboration.
• The developer will help define product transformation as Lightspeed evolves its offerings to merchants and consumers globally.
• The work environment is flexible, offering fully remote, partially remote, or fully office-based options, and candidates must be located in Canada and able to work within EST/EDT hours.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have experience as a full-stack web developer, with a heavier focus on front-end development using Typescript and React, while backend development will primarily be done with Node.js.
• A solid understanding of software engineering principles and best practices is required, along with a strong sense of ownership for features throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• The ability to analyze production environments, incidents, and performance characteristics to improve existing features and systems is essential.
• A passion for learning new things and a desire to continuously improve are important traits for candidates.
• Hands-on experience with continuous integration and deployment of SaaS applications, building microservices, writing automated tests, and familiarity with Docker & Kubernetes is considered a plus.
• Experience with real-time messaging systems, relational and NoSQL databases, API-first design, instrumentation, and technical leadership is also beneficial.
