Description:
The position is for a Senior Software Developer to join the Lightspeed Retail Team in North America.
The role involves building software solutions that provide merchants with essential tools to thrive in the market.
The developer will collaborate with product managers, designers, developers, and stakeholders as part of a cross-functional team to deliver product features and functionality.
Responsibilities include developing clean, well-designed, highly maintainable code and services, drafting and implementing technical designs, and extending personal skills through team collaboration.
The developer will help define product transformation as Lightspeed evolves its offerings to merchants and consumers globally.
The work environment is flexible, offering fully remote, partially remote, or fully office-based options, and candidates must be located in Canada and able to work within EST/EDT hours.
Requirements:
Candidates must have experience as a full-stack web developer, with a heavier focus on front-end development using Typescript and React, while backend development will primarily be done with Node.js.
A solid understanding of software engineering principles and best practices is required, along with a strong sense of ownership for features throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
The ability to analyze production environments, incidents, and performance characteristics to improve existing features and systems is essential.
A passion for learning new things and a desire to continuously improve are important traits for candidates.
Hands-on experience with continuous integration and deployment of SaaS applications, building microservices, writing automated tests, and familiarity with Docker & Kubernetes is considered a plus.
Experience with real-time messaging systems, relational and NoSQL databases, API-first design, instrumentation, and technical leadership is also beneficial.
