Quora is a remote-first company, allowing this position to be performed remotely from multiple countries around the world.
The mission of Quora is to grow and share the world’s knowledge through its two main products: Quora, a global knowledge sharing platform, and Poe, a platform for chatting and building with various AI language models.
The Senior Software Engineer will contribute to Poe, focusing on building cutting-edge features and improving the bot ecosystem.
Responsibilities include collaborating with designers, product teams, data scientists, QA, and other engineers to deliver products for bot creators, designing and maintaining external developer APIs, and creating tools for integrating new LLMs on Poe.
The role requires quick iteration on projects from ideation to launch, while championing user experience and sustainable code practices.

Requirements:

Candidates must be available for meetings during Quora's coordination hours (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time).
A minimum of 5 years of experience working with large scale codebases and systems, particularly web applications, is required.
At least 3 years of experience with React, Typescript, and GraphQL is necessary.
Candidates should have 3 years of experience in Python or a similar programming language.
A passion for learning and improving oneself and the team is essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.

For US candidates, the salary range is $147,200 - $232,750 USD plus equity and benefits, while for Canada candidates, the salary range is $151,345 - $239,304 CAD plus equity and benefits.
