Description:
Jackbox Games is a small game studio known for the Jackbox Party Pack franchise, which includes popular social party games like Quiplash, Drawful, and Trivia Murder Party.
The studio is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer who can thrive in ambiguity and tackle large-scale challenges independently.
The role involves owning and driving complex engineering challenges from concept to execution, breaking down open-ended problems into structured, deliverable projects.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems in Go (Golang) and frontend components in Vue.js, ensuring reliability, maintainability, and test coverage.
The engineer will estimate work effectively, deliver solutions within reasonable timelines, and keep stakeholders informed on progress, risks, and trade-offs.
Collaboration with designers, artists, and engineers is essential to create seamless player experiences and improve development workflows.
The role also requires contributing to and maintaining clear technical documentation to support knowledge sharing and consistency across the team.
Continuous improvement of performance, scalability, and engineering practices through mentorship, code reviews, and process enhancements is expected.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in full-stack or backend development.
Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) and Vue.js (or a similar frontend framework) is required.
Proven experience in taking large, ambiguous problems, structuring them into deliverable projects, and successfully shipping them is essential.
A deep understanding of scalable, high-performance systems and real-time communication protocols is necessary.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in complex environments are required.
Candidates must possess strong communication skills to articulate technical challenges and solutions clearly.
Experience with cloud platforms and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is also required.

The pay range for this position is $105,393 - $157,464, with individual compensation packages based on unique candidate factors.
