Overstory is seeking a Senior Geospatial Machine Learning Engineer to join the Vegetation Modeling team.
The role involves developing and improving algorithms to understand vegetation's impact on customers using satellite imagery and geospatial datasets.
Responsibilities include developing new vegetation intelligence products, supporting existing products, leading projects, and building tools to measure performance and value.
The position is remote-first, allowing for collaboration with a diverse team across the U.S. and Europe.

Requirements:
Candidates must have at least 8 years of commercial experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer.
Advanced scientific Python experience is required, including proficiency in libraries such as numpy, scipy, scikit-learn, and pandas.
Experience with geospatial or satellite data and tools like gdal, rasterio, shapely, fiona, geopandas, and QGIS is necessary.
Familiarity with deep learning algorithms, particularly in geospatial contexts, and tools such as pytorch and tensorflow is essential.
Experience in leading small teams and a passion for climate issues are important.
Candidates should be comfortable working in a remote-first, fast-paced environment and be based in the GMT/CET time zone, with some flexibility for US ET candidates.
