Kunai is a fast-growing digital consultancy focused on banking, payments, and fintech.
The company has shipped over 150 products for clients including Visa, American Express, Capital One, WEX, Wells Fargo, Ernst & Young, and TOMS Shoes over the past decade.
The role involves building a payments platform that will enhance repeatability, stability, and quality for multiple development teams across a partner bank.
You will work on a SCRUM team that owns products and services end to end, from intent refinement to development to production support.
Responsibilities include building new features and supporting tooling and ML efforts for the transformation within the card technology organization.
The position involves migrating from a microservices-based architecture in Java to a bespoke data-centric solution in Golang.
This is part of a 2+ year investment in the platform.
The role is remote, with core working hours aligning to EST.

Requirements:

You must have 6+ years of experience working in a production environment in any language, with at least 3+ years of experience writing backend services in Golang.
Hands-on experience with AWS Glue, Spark, or Big Query is required.
You should have production-ready experience in a serverless environment, preferably in an enterprise setting.
A minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience with any NoSQL database is necessary.
You must have at least 1+ year of hands-on experience with DynamoDB.
Experience with CICD pipelines in either AWS, GCP, or Azure is required.
Nice to haves include experience with Java or Python, automated testing, end-to-end testing, or integration testing, as well as familiarity with Terraform or CloudFormation.
AWS certifications and experience with Lambda and Step Functions are also considered beneficial.

The salary range for this position is $165,000 - $180,000 per annum, with a slightly higher range available for residents of NYC.
