Description:
The Senior Healthcare Data Analyst will work remotely in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs - Financial Audit of Invoices and Billing Practices under VA’s Medical Disability Examination (MDEs) Contracts.
Responsibilities include providing analytical and data sampling support for ongoing audits of medical invoices, combining data for analysis, reviewing electronic invoices for accuracy, identifying anomalies, documenting results, and collaborating with the audit team.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to conduct independent invoice audits, prepare audit documentation, and contribute to audit team planning sessions.
The position requires maintaining connectivity to the VA network, accessing MDE Vendor portals, and evaluating medical records and claims for fraud, waste, and abuse.
Requirements:
Must have a NAIC Clearance/Public Trust or be eligible to receive one.
A Public Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience as a healthcare analyst is required.
Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience.
Proficiency in IDEA auditing software, Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel), and familiarity with Access and SQL.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
Ability to collaborate in a team-based environment, resolve problems efficiently, and communicate effectively.
Must be able to gather and analyze information skillfully and demonstrate resourcefulness in daily tasks.
