Description:
The Information Security team at Brooks is looking for a Senior Information Security Engineer to lead critical information security initiatives aimed at securing users and systems.
The role involves serving as a security consultant to internal IT departments, ensuring that their projects incorporate appropriate security controls.
The engineer will need to develop a deep understanding of the company's technical infrastructure, software products, and processes.
Responsibilities include designing, planning, and implementing strategic and tactical security improvements to support and protect the business.
The engineer will analyze, define, and recommend information security requirements for all enterprise technologies, computing assets, and network infrastructure.
The position requires leveraging both internal and external resources to achieve security goals.
Key responsibilities include security control design and implementation, acting as a security advocate within the business, incident handling and response, and maintaining situational awareness.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred.
Candidates should have at least 7 years of experience in maturing and improving information security programs.
A system engineer level understanding of infrastructure technologies such as Active Directory, virtualization, and Windows operating systems is required.
Functional knowledge of modern networking protocols such as TCP/IP, IPSEC, VPN, MPLS, and SD-WAN is necessary.
Candidates must understand the cyber kill chain and its relation to attacks by cyber-criminals.
Experience implementing security controls including IDS/IPS, firewalls, EDR, MFA, SSO, PAM, and email filtering is essential.
Proficiency in using SIEM tools for log collection, incident detection, and investigation is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
Candidates should be persuasive negotiators able to exert influence without authority.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills are necessary.
A solid grasp of vulnerability management and the ability to identify security events based on behavior is required.
Knowledge of security frameworks and methodologies such as CIS Top 18, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and PCI DSS is important.
Professional certifications such as GCIH, CISSP, or CySA+ are a plus.
