Description:
Dev Technology Group is seeking a Senior Information Security Specialist to join a mission-oriented team supporting applications deployed in AWS.
The ISSO will coordinate information technology security regulations and requirements, ensuring compliance with all policies and best practices.
Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining security documentation such as Security Plans and Contingency Plans.
The role involves identifying and addressing weaknesses, vulnerabilities, and findings, and preparing Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), waivers, and accepted risk processes as necessary.
The ISSO will conduct interviews and table-top exercises to ensure the implementation of security measures.
Advising on processes that align with the Risk Management Framework is a key duty.
The position requires conducting annual Contingency Plan Testing and developing security controls based on FISMA and NIST 800-53 guidelines.
Coordination with IT leads from partner agencies/components to identify collaboration opportunities in IT capabilities is essential.
The ISSO will report IT security incidents according to established procedures and provide development teams with weekly security reports.
Responsibilities also include developing and implementing Authority to Operate, conducting IT audits, and providing security guidance to project development teams.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree is required for this position.
Candidates must have at least 7 years of experience securing government IT systems.
A strong working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) is necessary.
Experience providing security guidance to systems deployed in AWS is required.
The ability to work collaboratively as well as manage individual tasks is essential.
Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of the technical components of an information system environment.
Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, are required.
