Description:

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will work on cross-functional teams to build scalable infrastructure for government services.
Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and delivering services that millions of Americans depend on.
The role involves technical leadership of platform infrastructure projects supporting development teams and large-scale systems with a focus on automation, organization, and communication.
The engineer will enable application development teams to run effectively in the cloud, delivering a modern user experience.
Key tasks include DevSecOps engineering, building infrastructure as code, and reviewing solutions built by team members.
The engineer will research and analyze technical solutions, maintain documentation, and manage integrated systems used by clients.
Responsibilities also include identifying blockers, risks, and issues, proposing solutions, and implementing automation for cloud resources.
The role requires designing architecture for projects, documenting and communicating plans to stakeholders, and ensuring project schedules are met.
The engineer will facilitate meetings, perform code and technical reviews, and establish engineering norms and practices.
The position includes serving in an on-call rotation and responding to tickets or routing them to appropriate engineers.

Requirements:

A minimum of 7 years of experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or a mix of Software Engineering is required.
A Bachelor's Degree in any discipline or four years of experience in lieu of a degree is necessary.
Candidates must have experience managing different systems such as Windows Server and Linux CLI, and automating repetitive tasks.
Experience in training and mentoring engineers is required.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash is necessary.
Candidates should have experience designing CI/CD and other workflow automation across multiple systems.
Knowledge of incident handling and follow-up, including root cause analyses, is required.
Familiarity with cloud primitives such as VPC, ACL, Route Tables, and Security Groups is necessary.
Experience running asynchronous jobs using services like ECS or Lambda is required.
Candidates must demonstrate advanced ability to contribute to and update existing code or Infrastructure as Code.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
An interest in Cloud Infrastructure, cloud architecture, IT service management, Unix/Linux, scripting, networking, or security is preferred.
Candidates must be able to follow and establish standard operating procedures when needed.
