Description:
The Senior System Administrator will work with next-generation platforms and is responsible for System Administration, Virtualization, cloud services, and various server roles.
The role includes managing Active Directory, designing architectures, developing supporting documentation, and migrating software applications to cloud computing environments.
This is a remote position, allowing work from anywhere in India.
The working hours are from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM (US EST Time Zone).
Responsibilities include administering cloud services such as Amazon Web Services, VMware, and/or Windows Azure.
The administrator will address user tickets regarding hardware, software, and networking through remote troubleshooting.
The role involves performing hardware installations, basic troubleshooting on LAN, VPN Access, VoIP Systems, and email systems.
The administrator will upgrade BIOS and device firmware on servers, apply security patches, and perform planned maintenance activities.
Collaboration with other engineers and consultants is essential to promote customer satisfaction and optimize data security.
The position requires setting up and maintaining workstations and a small number of local servers.
Regular reviews of hardware and software needs will be conducted.
The administrator will manage user provisioning lifecycle tasks and ensure proper closure of end-user service requests.
Monitoring and managing systems performance and capacity using tools like Nagios, PRTG, and CACTI is required.
Mentoring associate and mid-level System Administrators is part of the role.
The administrator will perform backups and recovery for the hosted environment and maintain documentation of networks, systems, and applications.
Technical documentation and manuals will be created, and local hardware procurement will involve dealing with various vendors.
Requirements:
A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required (B.E. or M.C.A. or B.Tech).
Certifications such as CCNA, MCSA, MCSE, or any related to System Administration are necessary.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration is required.
Fluent verbal and written English communication skills are essential.
Strong client communication skills are necessary.
The candidate must be a good team player and highly motivated, with a proven ability to multitask.
Hands-on expertise in Git or similar source control management and security management is required.
Excellent knowledge and experience with Virtual Machines are necessary.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, VB Script, and ShellScript is required.
Strong knowledge in Windows Administration (both Server and Client) is essential.
Experience in Web Server Administration (Tomcat, IIS) is required.
Backup automation for VMs and storage using scripting or tools is necessary.
Experience with Active Directory, DNS, and networking concepts is required.
The candidate must have excellent knowledge in creating and implementing SSL Certificates.
