The Senior Java Developer position at Excella involves working as a consultant and thought leader, developing cutting-edge solutions using technologies like Java, Ruby, C#, Python, and JavaScript for commercial and government clients.
Responsibilities include employing Agile development practices, supporting quality development, following emerging design principles, participating in code reviews, and continuously improving code quality.
The role offers the opportunity to work on small Agile teams, build web and mobile products, and contribute to improving the code base by adopting best practices from various communities.

4+ years of web development experience and a 4-year college degree are required.
Proficiency in Java and/or Groovy, Scala, Clojure, Spring Framework, MySQL, PostgreSQL, cloud platforms like GitHub, Heroku, AWS, Azure, DevOps tools like Jenkins/TeamCity, Vagrant, Puppet/Chef, REST and/or SOAP APIs, HTML5, CSS3, ERB, SCSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Gradle or Maven for build automation, automated testing tools like Cucumber, JUnit, Selenium, and design skills in object-oriented methodologies, design patterns, database design, and data modeling.
Familiarity with DevOps Research and Assessment (DORA) and its capabilities is encouraged.
