Description:

Workato is seeking an exceptional Senior Java Developer to join their growing Data Integration team in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The role involves collaborating with Product Management, CCE, and Infrastructure teams to deliver Data Integration features.
Ongoing projects include working with major databases using JDBC, asynchronous queries, Kafka, JMS and RabbitMQ connectivity, data pipelines (ETL/ELT use cases), CDC triggers for database change tracking, and data insights for analytics and anomaly detection.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing components of Workato database connectivity, improving backend reliability, designing messaging connectivity components, performing code and architecture reviews, supporting continuous improvement, contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle, facilitating knowledge sharing, writing efficient code, establishing long-term strategies for testing, and ensuring compliance with specifications.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject.
A minimum of 10 years of industry experience is required.
Proficiency with Core Java and experience in building, deploying, and troubleshooting production-grade systems is essential.
Experience with Relational Databases, SQL, and JDBC (such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) is necessary.
Familiarity with test-driven development is required.
Optional qualifications include technical leadership experience, experience with Docker and isolation technologies, Kubernetes, public cloud infrastructure providers (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud/Heroku), automated performance testing, and related fields such as DevOps and distributed systems.
Experience with dynamic languages (Groovy, Ruby, Javascript), messaging systems like Kafka and JMS, and building/deploying REST APIs is a plus.
