Description:

Gorilla Logic is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer specializing in Kotlin to join their remote team in Colombia or Costa Rica.
The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining the client's data architecture to ensure data availability and reliability for analysis and business decision-making.
The ideal candidate should be passionate about data, possess strong technical skills, and have experience in developing scalable data solutions.
Responsibilities include working with an agile team to build, maintain, and optimize applications, mentoring fellow developers, and collaborating with DevOps and QA to establish a quality-focused CI/CD pipeline.
The engineer will be responsible for code reviews, testing, and delivering high-quality maintainable code while working in an Agile environment to define, estimate, and work on user stories.
Proficient English communication skills and good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills are required.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of backend development experience with Kotlin.
A minimum of 3 years of backend Java development experience is necessary.
Experience using a modern Java framework like Spring or Micronaut for at least 3 years is required.
Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable backend APIs is essential.
Candidates should have experience working with remote data via REST and JSON.
Familiarity with modern enterprise patterns like microservices is required.
Development experience with SQL databases is necessary.
Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining a production application is essential.
