Remote Senior Laravel and WordPress Developer - Linux

Description:

• A2 Hosting is hiring for a Senior Software Developer with 5+ years of Laravel and WordPress experience to join their team.
• This role is not focused on theme development; candidates must have extensive experience building production-quality web applications with both WordPress and Laravel in a Linux environment.
• The ideal candidate should have a strong DevOps/systems background and a deep understanding of the WordPress plugin ecosystem, WordPress hooks, WP-CLI, and modern Javascript frameworks.
• Responsibilities include building and troubleshooting web applications surrounding the custom control panel, TurboHub.
• This is a full-time, fully remote position with a Monday-Friday, 9a-5p Eastern Time schedule.
• The position is currently open only to candidates in North/South America.
• The TurboHub application is used by customers to manage their WordPress sites and integrates tightly with WordPress via WP-CLI and custom plugins.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have at least 5 years of professional experience developing production-quality web applications using WordPress/WP-CLI, Laravel, and Vue/React in a business setting.
• Experience working with WP-CLI and building custom commands for it is required.
• Candidates should have experience writing custom WordPress plugins and a deep understanding of WordPress options, filters, actions, etc.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience with Linux Systems Administration is necessary.
• High proficiency in DevOps for building, maintaining, and troubleshooting WordPress and Laravel web applications in a Linux/command line environment is essential.
• Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak effectively in English through all utilized channels.
• Experience with front-end frameworks such as Vue or React is required.
• Familiarity with message queues (e.g., Laravel Queues, RabbitMQ, ActiveJob) is necessary.
• Experience with unit testing and testing methodologies such as test-driven development and behavior-driven development is required.
• Candidates should have the ability to QA their work and apply the fit and finish of the Product team’s designs during implementation.
• Experience profiling and benchmarking web and CLI applications is necessary.
• Experience working in a fully remote and globally distributed team is a plus.
• Experience in a Hosting or similar Technology company is also a plus.
• Open source contributions to the WordPress or Laravel communities are strongly encouraged.
