Remote Senior Linux System Engineer

Description:

• A2 Hosting is seeking a Senior Linux System Engineer to join their team.
• The Senior System Engineer will lead the planning, design, development, implementation, and execution of global system deployments across multiple datacenters.
• This position focuses on end-to-end solutions for diverse projects across the organization.
• The role is fully remote and follows a Monday - Friday schedule from 12 AM to 8 AM EST.
• Essential duties include leading global deployments, building automation tools using Python or Bash, collaborating with project management teams, writing documentation, driving continuous improvement initiatives, mentoring team members, participating in on-call rotations, and staying updated on technology trends.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 8+ years of professional level Linux (CentOS/RHEL) engineering experience.
• Automation and scripting skills in Bash and Python are preferred.
• Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing Linux file-systems is required.
• Experience with central authentication systems such as LDAP or FreeIPA is necessary.
• Candidates should be able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• The ability to meet deliverable objectives with minimal supervision is essential.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English are required to effectively communicate with team members, vendors, customers, and leadership.
