Description:
The Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Acentra Health will work at the intersection of data science and software engineering to build, deploy, and optimize machine learning models and pipelines, focusing on large language models (LLMs), generative AI (GenAI), and natural language processing (NLP).
Responsibilities include designing and implementing ML models for healthcare-related problems, exploring state-of-the-art ML techniques, developing data cleaning and feature engineering techniques, evaluating model performance, optimizing models for real-time predictions, and leading the AI and ML development process.
The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, staying updated on advancements in ML and AI, and documenting code and methodologies for reproducibility and knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
Master’s degree in computer science, data science, or a related field is required.
5+ years of experience as a ML Engineer with a focus on healthcare projects.
5+ years of experience with object-oriented scripting languages like Python or R, developing ML models, NLP techniques, data preprocessing, and feature engineering.
2+ years of experience with LLMs and GenAI, and 3+ years of cloud computing experience using Azure and/or AWS for ML and AI systems.
Proven experience with deploying solutions using LLMs and foundation models, GenAI techniques like VAEs, GANs, and transformer-based models, and mentoring ML Engineers.
Familiarity with healthcare data standards, electronic health records, medical imaging formats, and relevant healthcare regulations is highly desirable.
Proficiency in using data manipulation and analysis tools such as SQL, Pandas, and NumPy.

The pay rate for this position is $115-140K, with placement depending on years of experience and skill level.
