Remote Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Tala

The Senior Machine Learning Engineer will build, monitor, and maintain Tala’s core machine learning and causal inference services and tooling.
Responsibilities include owning customer-facing real-time streaming feature extraction and model inference, model-related batch compute platforms, service level objective definition, root cause analysis, software and architecture design, and cross-functional collaboration.
The role involves developing self-service tooling for Data Scientists and Analysts, optimizing model development and software life cycles, and ensuring the quality of models and services through various testing and deployment strategies.
The engineer will also write and review design documents, perform code reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Product, Data Platform, Credit, and Business Development.

Candidates must have 5+ years of backend software experience in consumer scale applications, with at least 4 years using Python.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in real-time streaming data technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, Beam, Flink, or Spark Streaming is required.
Experience in autonomously building machine learning or causal inference models to solve business problems is essential.
Advanced English skills are necessary for effective communication.
