Description:
Xometry is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to enhance its machine learning capabilities.
The role involves exploring new machine learning opportunities, conducting research, and developing proof of concepts for AI solutions within Xometry’s platform.
Responsibilities include developing and implementing machine learning models to improve cost, price, and sourcing predictions for customers and suppliers.
The engineer will lead the evaluation of emerging technologies, identify areas for improvement, and develop new features while ensuring platform reliability and scalability.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to gather requirements, prioritize features, and define technical solutions based on innovations.
The role also includes monitoring machine learning models and AI performance, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to documentation and knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
Candidates must have experience with state-of-the-art machine learning modeling techniques, including transformers, self-supervised pre-training, generative modeling, and large language models (LLMs).
Hands-on experience with large-scale data processing and training models using deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow is required.
The ideal candidate should bridge advanced approaches with real-world applications.
Experience with cloud-native software, containers, container orchestration, and distributed systems is necessary.
A self-driven attitude with the ability to own problems and deliver solutions is essential.
Strong software fundamentals, including design patterns, refactoring, object-oriented programming, and testing, are required.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and a "shift-left" mentality is expected.
Candidates should be comfortable working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, understand database design, and have data analysis skills.
Experience in building and consuming CI/CD pipelines is required.
Proficiency with command line and experience with *nix systems is necessary.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering teams that build large-scale ML-driven user-facing products is required.
At least 3 years of experience leading cross-team engineering efforts is necessary.
Strong project management execution skills are essential.
Candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders due to ITAR regulations.
