Description:
Perceptyx is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer with expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs) to join their remote team based in Vancouver, BC.
The role involves collaborating with a skilled group of engineers and data scientists to enhance ML models and drive AI-powered innovation.
Responsibilities include developing, fine-tuning, and deploying NLP models for sentiment analysis and text classification, as well as building scalable ML pipelines using AWS.
The engineer will prototype and document models using JupyterHub/Notebooks, apply MLOps best practices, and manage containerized ML models using Docker and Kubernetes.
The position requires collaboration with data engineers, software engineers, and product teams to integrate ML solutions and contribute to Agile development.
The engineer will maintain technical documentation, share expertise through client consultations and knowledge-sharing initiatives, and expand professional knowledge by attending industry events.
Requirements:
Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in Machine Learning and NLP, focusing on production-grade systems.
A BA/BS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or a related field is required, with MA/MS/PhD preferred.
Technical skills required include solid Python skills, hands-on experience with LLMs, proficiency with SQL, and expertise in AWS for scalable ML training and deployment.
Familiarity with JupyterHub/Notebooks, MLOps knowledge, and experience with Docker and Kubernetes are essential.
Candidates should possess strong soft skills, including honesty, an autonomous mindset, solid communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Bonus skills include familiarity with Agentic workflows and modern AI agent development frameworks.
