Description:
Phaidra is seeking a Senior ML Applications Engineer to work remotely, focusing on AI-powered control systems for the industrial sector.
The role involves wearing multiple hats, including Software Engineer, Controls Engineer, Data Scientist, ML Engineer, and Solutions Engineer.
Responsibilities include understanding Phaidra’s internal platform, collaborating with teams to build solutions for customer applications, and leading the onboarding and maintenance of agents controlling industrial facilities.
The engineer will continuously seek performance improvements and guide teams to implement these changes.
Development of tooling prototypes to simplify and scale agent onboarding and maintenance is also a key responsibility.
Clear documentation of research, communications, and actions is required.
Participation in decision-making for the medium to long-term vision of MLAE and Phaidra is expected.
Mentoring peers and delegating tasks within the team while owning project delivery is part of the role.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 6+ years of progressive relevant work experience.
Previous experience in leading projects is required.
Experience as a Software Engineer, Data Scientist, or Machine Learning Engineer in an industrial controls or process engineering environment is necessary.
A solid understanding of ML concepts and the ability to reason about systems with non-deterministic components is essential.
Knowledge of industrial processing systems, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer is required.
Fluency in a high-level programming language, preferably Python, is necessary.
Candidates should possess natural curiosity and a desire to learn and problem-solve in new domains.
Exceptional organizational and communication skills are required.
