Description:
The Senior Mobile Developer (Android) will focus on designing, building, and maintaining high-performance, user-centric Android applications for Paxful’s global platform.
This role requires expertise in Android development, a passion for delivering seamless user experiences, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
You will play a critical role in enhancing Paxful’s mobile ecosystem, contributing to feature development, performance optimization, and app scalability.
Responsibilities include designing and developing native Android applications that deliver exceptional user experiences, collaborating with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to define and implement new features, and writing clean, modular, and maintainable Kotlin code.
You will optimize app performance for various Android devices, debug and resolve complex issues, conduct code reviews, and provide mentorship to junior developers.
Staying updated with the latest Android frameworks, tools, and trends is essential, as well as integrating backend APIs into Android applications and developing unit and UI tests.
You will implement CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment and support the implementation of advanced features, such as blockchain integration and self-custody wallet functionalities.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in Android application development.
Strong proficiency in Kotlin and familiarity with Java is required.
A deep understanding of Android frameworks and tools, including Jetpack Compose, Android SDK, Retrofit, and Room, is necessary.
Experience with RESTful APIs and third-party SDKs is essential, along with the ability to integrate backend services into the Android app.
Knowledge of mobile design patterns and architecture, such as MVVM, MVP, or Clean Architecture, is required.
Proficiency in CI/CD tools and testing frameworks, including Gradle, Espresso, and Firebase Test Lab, is necessary.
Strong debugging and performance profiling skills, with familiarity with Android Studio Profiler and other profiling tools, are required.
Recommended skills include knowledge of cryptography and blockchain-related mobile integrations, familiarity with mobile security best practices, experience with analytics and tracking tools, and contributions to open-source Android projects.
