This role represents an opportunity to build technology that’s mobilizing our nation's future.
At BusRight, we are making school buses safer and more efficient for students, families, schools, and communities nationwide.
Our mobile apps are the heart of our product ecosystem, providing drivers with guidance on their routes and support.
As a Senior Mobile Engineer, you will contribute to both the engineering team's codebase and its culture.
You will join a team of 2 senior mobile engineers and be instrumental in building out company culture, development processes, and the development roadmap.
You will help set company direction and influence transportation innovation.
Your responsibilities will include building real-time collaborative routing applications integrated with fleet data and analytics.
You will iterate towards a self-driven product that educates users through tutorials.
You will deliver an exceptional experience on our mobile apps, including a Driver App (Kotlin) and a Parent App (Flutter).
You will develop innovative features to track the presence of students on the bus and beyond.
You will explore and integrate with hardware such as NFC scanners, cameras, and vehicle telematics.
You will work with a mature, interdisciplinary development team of outstanding engineers.
You will be in direct contact with the community of users and participate in brainstorming sessions, technical scopings, and customer feedback forums.
Requirements:
You must have at least 5 years of professional experience in mobile development.
You should be highly proficient in Kotlin, with experience building and maintaining large-scale applications.
A deep understanding of SOLID principles and their application in software development is required.
You must be experienced with commonly used design patterns in mobile application development.
Hands-on experience with reactive programming frameworks (e.g., RxJava, Kotlin Flow) is necessary.
You should possess strong knowledge of UI/UX design principles and a user-centric development approach.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience, is required.
You must be able to mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance while taking ownership of projects.
Proactivity in identifying and solving problems is essential.
You should challenge existing solutions and assumptions to drive better outcomes.
Effective communication of technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders is necessary.
You must thrive in cross-functional teams and understand the perspectives and needs of other departments.
Staying ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies is important for continuous improvement.
You should be adaptable to changing requirements or priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding the ethical implications of your work and advocating for responsible practices is required.
A strong sense of ownership and understanding of how your work contributes to the company’s larger vision and goals is essential.

Benefits:
You will receive competitive compensation ranging from $120,000 to $200,000 per year, subject to negotiation based on experience and expertise.
