Description:
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day handling of escalations related to incidents, projects, or requests of managed services customers' environments.
This role is part of the Managed Services Infrastructure Practice – Network and Voice Services team, providing subject matter expertise in incident management, service request management, and change management infrastructure support.
Responsibilities include managing and maintaining customer network infrastructure, communicating the status of incident tickets/service requests, and performing baseline network administration tasks.
The engineer must track time worked accurately and perform incident management on a variety of issues impacting network infrastructure.
Additional tasks include executing routine and emergency infrastructure maintenance, troubleshooting with carriers and vendors, and contributing to the configuration and performance tuning of managed network infrastructure.
The role also involves building and maintaining documentation for customer network infrastructure and performing periodic reviews for continuous improvement opportunities.
Support and cross-training of team members on managed solutions is expected, along with managing service requests to ensure adherence to SLAs.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 12+ years of experience with operational administration of network infrastructure.
A minimum of 9+ years working with monitoring platforms is required, with LogicMonitor being a plus.
At least 6+ years of experience with operational administration of Cisco and Palo Alto infrastructure is necessary.
Candidates should have 4+ years of experience with operational administration of NetScaler infrastructure.
Experience with GlobalProtect, AnyConnect, and FortiClient is required.
Advanced experience with Cisco ISE, BGP/EIGRP/OSPF, FMC + FTD/ASA is essential.
A strong background in enterprise routing and switching technologies, as well as knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, is needed.
Experience with multiple enterprise LAN, SD-WAN, and WAN topologies is required.
Candidates should have a strong background in operational administration of network management systems and IPAM.
Excellent leadership, mentoring, problem-solving, and communication skills are necessary.
A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is required.
CCNA certification is mandatory, while PCNSA, CCNP Enterprise, and CCNP Security certifications are considered bonuses.
