Remote Senior Network Engineer

Description:

• K2 Services is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our remote team.
• The ideal candidate will have advanced expertise in Palo Alto and Fortinet technologies, along with proficiency in Cisco or Arista switches.
• You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex networks while ensuring high performance, scalability, and security.
• You will provide technical leadership, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive initiatives to optimize network architecture.
• Key responsibilities include leading the design, implementation, and management of a robust and scalable network infrastructure.
• You will provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers.
• You will configure and manage firewalls using Palo Alto and Fortinet technologies to ensure the highest level of security.
• You will design and implement complex routing and switching solutions using Cisco or Arista switches.
• You will act as the liaison and subject matter expert between the architecture, security, and engineering teams to integrate technical solutions to existing multifaceted, complex, customer-facing production environments.
• You will be responsible for change management procedures and detailed ownership, planning, and execution of highly complex, secure, high-risk, multifaceted changes.
• You will provide technical guidance and leadership to project teams and individuals as appropriate.
• You will act as one of the top-level escalation points for all networks and related technical designs.
• You will respond, analyze, and follow up on outstanding network issues at all levels; ensuring timely problem resolution.
• You will strive to improve communications and teamwork across organizations.
• Other key functions include carrier management, incident management, problem management, capacity management, service acceptance, event management, performance management, and standards compliance, with a focus on service restoration, sustainability, and proactive service improvement.
• Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
• You must have 10+ years of experience in a large multi-platform environment or equivalent technical experience.
• Proven experience as a Senior Network Engineer with expertise in Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Cisco or Arista switches is essential.
• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, security, and infrastructure is required.
• Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks and Fortinet products is necessary.
• Advanced proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco or Arista switches is required.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills are essential.
• Relevant certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Expert (PCNSE), Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE), and Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) are highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with extensive work experience are required; experience in providing situational analysis for networking telecommunications is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
• Excellent customer orientation, support, and interfacing experience with the ability to persuade, convince, or influence others to take appropriate action is required.
• You must have the ability to lead and impact others at all levels of the organization.
• Proven success in dealing with concurrent problems and issues effectively in a dynamic, high-pressure environment is essential.
• An advanced understanding of business strategy as it relates to the network environment is required.
