Description:
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Circle, you will design, build, and maintain Circle’s infrastructure estate to support a growing worldwide customer base on public cloud providers across multiple regions.
You will ensure Circle’s products and core systems are running consistently, reasonably, and in a performant manner.

You will support multiple development teams with an agile, responsive CI/CD platform to deliver high-quality builds with measurable performance and quality.
Your responsibilities will include building, maintaining, improving, scaling, and securing cloud infrastructure and resources using IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
You will automate operational tasks using Go, Python, and serverless solutions like AWS Lambda and Kubernetes Jobs.
You will design, manage, and monitor Kubernetes clusters for multiple production workloads.
You will drive forward blockchain infrastructure by creating and managing blockchain nodes across various blockchains including Algorand, Ethereum, Hedera, Flow, Solana, and Stellar.
Participation in an on-call rotation to mitigate disruption for any production systems and conducting root cause analysis will be required.
You will plan and test disaster recovery scenarios for a highly available microservices architecture.
Collaboration with the Security team to create and maintain security-focused tools and frameworks will be part of your role.
You will engage and mentor team members, helping to grow and scale the team.
Requirements:
For the Senior Site Reliability Engineer (III) position, you need 4+ years in DevOps or SRE roles, focusing on tooling, automation, and infrastructure on a major public cloud provider.
Proficiency in coding and/or scripting with languages such as Go, Python, and Shell is required.
You should have at least 3 years of combined experience in building and maintaining CI/CD platforms and supporting agile engineering teams in building microservices.
Experience in building Docker images and deploying containers in Kubernetes clusters is necessary.
Familiarity with any modern CI/CD platform with complex gates and workflows is required.
You should have knowledge of Blue-Green, Canary, and A/B Testing deployment strategies.
Experience with distributed blockchain systems and maintaining blockchain full nodes is essential.
Knowledge of database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Redis, and OpenSearch is required.
You should have experience in migrating and transforming large, complex datasets from diverse sources, structures, and formats.
Familiarity with data warehousing tooling and services like Apache Airflow, AWS DMS, and Snowflake is necessary.
Knowledge of networking routing, DNS, load balancing, and edge networking is required.
You should have experience with APM, RUM, monitoring, and telemetry tools.
Proficiency in Helm charts and deploying and maintaining Kubernetes clusters is necessary.
You should be skilled in authoring and maintaining IaC with Terraform and deploying resources in public cloud providers.
Strong skills in observability, troubleshooting, and performance solutions are required.
You should exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to peers and stakeholders.
For the Staff Site Reliability Engineer (IV) position, all the requirements of the Senior Site Reliability Engineer apply, plus you need 7+ years in DevOps or SRE roles and experience leading teams technically on architecture and system design.

The starting pay for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer ranges from $147,500 to $195,000, with an annual bonus target of 12.5%.
The starting pay for a Staff Site Reliability Engineer ranges from $172,500 to $227,500, with an annual bonus target of 15%.
