Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior PHP Engineer with a proven track record of excellent problem-solving capabilities and a strong background in designing, testing, and refactoring legacy code.
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with PHP and be adept at simplifying complex systems, ensuring high performance, and maintaining robust, clean, and efficient codebases.
Responsibilities include tackling complex problems with innovative solutions, architecting, developing, and maintaining high-quality PHP applications, and developing and executing comprehensive unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
The role also involves analyzing, refactoring, and optimizing legacy code to enhance performance, readability, and maintainability, conducting code reviews, and maintaining clear documentation for new features and code changes.
Continuous improvement is key, with an expectation to stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and proactively implement improvements.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Proficiency in PHP, with a deep understanding of its frameworks such as Laravel and Symfony is required.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role is necessary.
Strong experience in designing and implementing unit tests is essential.
Expertise in refactoring legacy code and simplifying complex systems is required.
A solid understanding of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is necessary.
Experience with other programming languages and technologies is preferred.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines, as well as experience with cloud platforms like AWS, is required.
Experience with version control systems such as Git is necessary.
Previous experience with HL7 and FHIR is preferred.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are required.
The candidate must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
