Description:
Wrapbook is seeking a Platform Data Engineer to scale and optimize their data infrastructure.
The role involves enhancing data pipelines, driving key architectural decisions, and ensuring seamless data movement.
Responsibilities include establishing robust data flow, governance, and reliability systems to empower the Data & Analytics team.
The engineer will take ownership of the infrastructure, implement modern tools, and design scalable architectures that support Wrapbook's growth.
Key tasks include owning and optimizing data pipeline infrastructure, contributing to the data engineering roadmap, and designing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
The engineer will implement data governance practices, collaborate with analytics and engineering teams, and lead the design of a layered data architecture.
Additional responsibilities include developing data contracts, evaluating new data tools, and maintaining SLAs for data freshness and accuracy.
The role requires collaboration with the Data Analytics team to facilitate strategic initiatives.
Requirements:
Candidates must have hands-on experience deploying production-quality code in fast-paced environments.
Proficiency in Python (preferred), Java, or Scala for data processing and pipeline development is required.
The ability to thrive in fast-changing, ambiguous situations while balancing immediate needs with long-term goals is essential.
Experience with data pipeline tools, such as Airbyte and dbt, is necessary.
Hands-on expertise with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and cloud-native environments (e.g., AWS) is required.
Proficiency with workflow automation and orchestration tools, such as Dagster or Apache Airflow, is needed.
Deep familiarity with PostgreSQL, including administration and tuning in cloud platforms, is essential.
Strong experience in ETL/ELT pipelines and data modeling is required.
Advanced SQL skills, particularly with relational databases and data warehouses (especially Snowflake), are necessary.
Knowledge of best practices in data governance and security is required.
Excellent problem-solving skills and strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams are essential.
