Remote Senior Platform Engineer

Description:

• The Senior Platform Engineer at Civica will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Civica’s cloud-based platforms, including both external and internal developer platforms.
• They will work on ensuring the performance, reliability, security, and scalability of internal and external systems.
• The role involves solving complex technical problems, influencing company-wide architecture, and developing best practices within the platform community.
• The engineer will act as a mentor for other platform engineers and actively contribute to improving older tech stacks and platforms using modern approaches.
• Technologies used include Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, scripting & automation, Linux administration, monitoring, networking, security, and DevOps concepts & practices.

Requirements:

• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, scripting & automation, Linux Administration, monitoring, networking, security, and DevOps Concepts & Practices.
• Familiarity with technologies such as AWS & Azure platforms, Terraform, Ansible, Datadog, Github, and Azure DevOps.
• Additional experience with Windows Administration, migrating VM-based architectures to cloud-native, and at least one DevOps-friendly programming language like Python or Go.
• Ability to work with ambiguity, mentor colleagues, collaborate closely, work independently, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues, including senior management.
