Lyka is an Australian pet wellness company focused on improving the health and lifespan of pets by providing nutritionally balanced, wholefood meals.
The company has served 40 million meals to pets in Australia and aims to expand its product range and enter new markets.
They are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join their internal Platform team and support the delivery of pet food to customers.
The role involves contributing to a new e-commerce platform, transitioning to a microservices architecture, and enhancing technical skills across the engineering team.
The Senior Platform Engineer will play a key role in deploying services on AWS, building CI/CD pipelines, using Node.js, ensuring observability in a microservices environment, and mentoring engineering squads.
Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential for this role.
Requirements:
Significant experience deploying services on AWS, including ECS, Fargate, EC2, ALB, RDS, Lambda, and IAM.
Strong knowledge of infrastructure as code, ideally CDK & CloudFormation.
Experience with building and optimizing CI/CD delivery pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar.
Development experience using Node.js (TypeScript).
Familiarity with observability in a microservices environment using tools like CloudWatch & Honeycomb.
Solid networking & network security skills, including VPC, security groups, TCP/IP, HTTP, and DNS.
Ability to mentor and convey DevOps best practices to engineering squads.
Strong collaboration skills to enhance the knowledge and capabilities of the engineering team.
