Remote Senior Platform Engineer

Description:

• The Senior Platform Engineer position at Vultr involves working with the engineering team to enhance existing functionality and features of the PHP monolithic control plane and server-side code, with additional usage of Python and Golang.
• Responsibilities include leading the transition of PHP applications to modern frameworks like Laravel, collaborating with internal and external teams for feature deployment, optimizing observability and automation, and mentoring other developers.
• The role also entails close collaboration with the platform engineering team to support PHP control plane efforts and working with developers across various teams as needed.

Requirements:

• Experience with PHP-FPM is required.
• Knowledge of Python or Go is a plus.
• Proficiency in Linux Virtualization technologies such as KVM, Qemu, and Libvirt at scale, with additional experience in MicroVMs being beneficial.
• Strong emphasis on documentation as a fundamental aspect of engineering.
• Experience in developing distributed applications with reliable REST interfaces and messaging technologies like Kafka or Nats.io.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools like Puppet and Ansible is advantageous.
• Experience with Windows is a bonus.
