Description:

  • Shakepay is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join their team and contribute to revolutionizing financial services in Canada.
  • The successful candidate will optimize code delivery, develop deployment processes, and streamline engineering onboarding through automation.
  • Responsibilities include building and maintaining security controls, troubleshooting performance issues, and participating in the on-call rotation.
  • The role involves measuring key delivery metrics, responding to service disruptions, and ensuring optimal system performance.
  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in a DevOps/SRE/Cloud engineer role and be proficient in Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
  • They should possess a solid understanding of networking concepts, experience with monitoring tools like DataDog, and knowledge of engineering processes and system optimization.
  • Bonus points for experience with technologies like Kubernetes, Kafka, DataDog, AWS cloud services, Terraform, and Node.js, as well as building fintech infrastructure and having some bitcoin knowledge.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in a DevOps/SRE/Cloud engineer role.
  • Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS in production and continuous build environments.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts such as HTTP, SSL/TLS, DNS.
  • Experience monitoring high availability environments using tools like DataDog.
  • Experience with customizing development tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering processes, structural design, and system optimization.
  • Experience working with a highly collaborative team.
  • Experience with incident management.
  • Driven by business impact.
