Description:
ShiftKey is a platform that connects healthcare facilities with licensed and certified professionals to fill available shifts, addressing staffing shortages in the healthcare industry.
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain cloud-based applications, ensuring platform stability, scalability, and performance.
You will apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices, optimize code, automate processes, and manage CI/CD pipelines and cloud systems.
The role involves leading key platform projects, delivering solutions aligned with company goals, and transitioning the system from a monolithic to a microservices architecture.
You will be responsible for designing and developing cross-team applications, performing coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the application development process.
The position requires driving large-scale architectural changes to ensure scalability, modularity, and improved fault tolerance across distributed systems.
You will architect, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance cloud infrastructure to support application deployment and operation.
Proactively identifying opportunities for improvement in current projects and infrastructure is essential, along with advocating for and implementing enhancements.
You will implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation to automate the provisioning, scaling, and management of cloud resources.
Requirements:
You must have 4+ years of experience in software engineering with the PHP stack, including Laravel.
A minimum of 2+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, or a similar technical role is required.
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar is necessary.
Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automation tools is essential for seamless application delivery.
Basic knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering principles and practices, including incident management, performance monitoring, and resilience engineering, is required.
Excellent troubleshooting skills are necessary, with the ability to resolve complex system and infrastructure issues.
You must be located in the US and can choose to work remotely or from the offices in Austin or Dallas.
