Description:

  • The Senior Platform Engineer will build and maintain vertical independent infrastructure, development pipelines, and software services while setting group-wide platform engineering standards.
  • The role involves assisting in research, proof of concept, and implementation of new technologies or services to be adopted by the entire group.
  • Responsibilities include configuration and management of various servers/instances via Docker, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • The engineer will work on transitioning legacy systems to Docker as everything runs on Docker.
  • Writing scripts and automation using Bash, Python, or Groovy is required.
  • The position includes reviewing and approving the work of peers as part of the software development process.
  • Maintaining cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS and ensuring the reliability of CI/CD is essential.
  • The engineer will build independent web-based tools and microservices to enhance development workflows.
  • Planning and implementing backup scenarios, log rotations, and scaling concepts for large datasets are part of the job.
  • Staying updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in the DevOps and development space is expected.
  • Proactively improving products, systems, and processes is a key responsibility.
  • Delivering software and projects according to agreed timelines is crucial.
  • The role requires tenacity and the ability to solve complex software bugs.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience is required.
  • Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in active development roles.
  • Experience with most of the technologies used, specifically Terraform and Docker, is necessary.
  • Strong operational experience with AWS, Linux, and MySQL is required.
  • A professional, self-motivated attitude is essential, as the office environment is relaxed.
  • Proficiency in written and oral English communication is mandatory.
  • Candidates should be eager to learn, open to constructive criticism, and willing to be team players in delivering optimal solutions.
  • Comfort in working in an agile and fast-paced environment is expected.
  • Strong communication skills, both technical and business/functionally oriented, are necessary.
  • Being a team player and willing to go beyond the call of duty when needed is important.
