Description:
As a Senior Product Security Researcher at Palo Alto Networks, you will play a high visibility role in addressing the latest cybersecurity threats.
You will discover new security vulnerabilities in products and cloud offerings through bug hunting and security research.
Your responsibilities include performing root-cause analysis of product vulnerabilities and collaborating with product teams to ensure complete remediation.
You will serve as a subject-matter expert in product security, working with various stakeholders including executives, engineering, infosec, privacy, legal, support, sales, customers, and industry partners.
The role requires a growth mindset and a commitment to learning about the latest trends in cybersecurity.
Requirements:
You must be an expert in secure programming, system security concepts, and both offensive and defensive security techniques.
Strong familiarity with Linux, operating system concepts, networking, and cloud computing is required.
Experience in writing SAST rules, fuzzing/instrumenting complex applications, and other program analysis methods is essential.
You should have an understanding of web/application security threats and defenses, including code injection and XSS.
Familiarity with OWASP guidelines and participation in security-focused communities is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
You should have an existing vulnerability research disclosure example or a public technical blog entry.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work independently, are required.
Collaboration across functional teams and with external partners is essential.
Experience in red/blue/purple team operations is a plus.
A BS or MS Degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent military experience related to computer security is required.

Compensation for this position ranges from $147,000 to $238,450 per year, depending on qualifications, experience, and work location.
